Depends on what size rim and your offset. I've seen it done but more info would help determine if its possible of not.

they are 17" and i think 7 inches wide. says "7j" and offset is 42. current tires are 205-40-17. i have a buddy sellin me 245/40/17 for 50 bux so im curious to see if they would fit...

I've run 17x8 +42 on 245/45's and it rubbed needed a good 1/2" - 3/4" spacing all around which required extended wheel studs as well. It was mostly due to the height of the tire I ran. With a 40 series I might have needed a real small spacer if any at all.

A 245/40r17 will fit the rear of 2g, but not on a 7'' wheel. You need an 8'' wheel to run those tires, with a 40mm offset.
