Painting Calipers HELP!

hi guys id like to paint my calipers red and i need your help im a beginner at this kinda stuff and id like to do it right so...what i need to know is....well to begin all i have is the jack that comes with the car..so hopefully that might be good enough if i jack up the car as if i were to change the tire can i just take off the wheels that way?.. then i need to know what to do to the caliper to either take it off or cover it something so i can paint it red with the red caliper spray paint...next i need to know how to put it back on if i remove it and basically a step by step instruction on how to do this from start to finish thanks alot

Get a service manual, be it chilton or haynes or an actual facotry service manual. Take the calipers off the car, Your going to look like an asshole if you have overspray everwhere and you painted your brake pads.

Since he's a newb at this kind of stuff sure do that, but if you can do a decent job of masking off everything but the calipers that would work too.

Just because someone is new, doesnt give them the excuse to half-ass everything.

Do it once, do it right

all u need is wd-40 lots of it. a 17mm wrench, or 17mm socket w/ wratchet and breaker bar to take off the 2 bolts holding the calipers to the hub. just put a box under it so u can set the caliper on w/o having to tkae the brake lines off, and paint away. revers instalation

If you need this much help, I can't help you. Stop and go find someone that knows how to do a brakejob.

Why would you wnat to accentuate (with red paint!) the fact that your calipers (and rotors) are the tiny equivalent of a 4" penis though?

^ If this was aimed towards me, I was simply saying that it can be done fairly easily without taking the calipers off. That's not half-assing it.

If it gets paint all over the pads, then I politely disagree completely

You know what the sad thing is Kain, I just did that the other day because I was so bored. I dug up some of my older posts.
