My 420a-t days are over

Blown head gasket and fried rings. My compression went from 205 across the board to 170 in 3 cylinders and 140 in one. It was fun while it lasted but its time to search for a new car.

Ya it was except for the paint. It had cancer like most black mitsubishis get. I put a lot of love time and money into it, but its not worth building the motor right. Cops are really cracking down on modified cars in California and our refs got suspended so instead of a ref or fix it ticket, its a pretty nice fine.

Looks like that AEM FIC didn't come soon enough :-( Sorry to hear that man. You must have had some insane knock to kill all 4 cylinders at once.

my boost setting was 8 psi and it was tuned on the conservative side. I want to say my a/f ratio was around 12 under full boost

That is too lean on the stock compression for sure. Closer to 11.0:1AFR is more where it should have been. That would certainly cause some detonation issues. What were your dyno #'s on the conservative tune?

I could be wrong on the air fuel ratio. I didnt have it tuned on a dyno. It was tuned on the street. The shop I go to isnt big enough for a dyno. Its time to get a new car though now. Any ideas anyone?

If it's gotta be not-very-modified, go for a nice Evo or something.
