Bottom line is that this guy prolly got his 420a cause:

1. that's all he could afford
2. he didn't do research at all before getting it (i bet my left nut he didn't)
3. that's all mom lets him have
4. he has NO clue of what it takes to boost a 420a and thinks that with 500 bucks (earned in a period of 2 months) he will be pwning hondaz...

Hell, he probably doesn't understand 1/4 of the stuff talked about on this thread cause like i said, read item # 4 of the list above....

Can we close this thread, or at least move it to the endless threads and call it 420a vs 4g63 part 71?

MOMY? no im 21 yrs old and live on my own. and about car knowledge, i know enough.. and i KNOW it takes alot to boost the 420 the way i want it to.. lol... look what this guy sent me through PM:

Quote:
hey look man...ONE thats really not all i could afford bc bottom line is.. i most likely make more than you as an assistant manager for citizens bank..and just joined the airforce today. The reasearch thing.. well i owned a talon tsi awd.. so i know enough already.. my first car was a honda.. if you know they are shitty cars period. well i spent lots of money trying to hook that thing up so i KNOW it doesnt take 500 bucks to hook up an engine esp the 420a.. MOMMY? no man honestly like i said im grown up man mommy has the best advice but doesnt have power over my will. Really man.. the reason why i posted that thread was bc thats what this website is made for you dumb*** to share our experiences and give advice.. so if youre in this website to give comments such as you did with my thread i suggest you go to the hondas where you can make fun of all day.
hehe.... first of all man, I aint no noob in this board, nor in the car industry... I know my shit and i have my reasons to post what i wrote. Yes the forum is for help, but if you are not a noob, you would have read all the newbie threads around and you should have known that you have to research before posting stuff like this, and if you would have done research you would have found out that this has been covered over 100 times and there are 20 different ways to go about it.

About the money, (I literally lol'ed at this) i cant give a flying funck about what are you and how much you make... i have a masters in business, i make over 70k a year and i just turned 22.. and i am rolling on a 08 Lancer... that doesnt mean anything... you still created a noob thread, and as such it was treated.

you know if everyone would just chill and relax this thread would of already been over.
lets not get into the rs/gs vs. gst/gsx it's a load of crap.
just anwser the question instead of making it my ride is better then yours.
me myself if you wanna have just 8-10 psi then dont worry about your internals just check your timing and compression then have fun.
but if you want more then you got a lot of time money and building to do.
just my .02

I disagree... I put together my 1st turbo kit for approx. $500... granted I only ran 8psi... but it was fast at the time...

Maybe he thinks his 420a would be fast enough with CAI and exhaust? You can't really define "fast", your definition of fast is different than everybody elses... Is your car fast? Maybe to you it is... maybe to me, it's slow? So, lets go with this, you build your car how you want it, fast, slow, whatever... as long as you are satisfied thats all that matters.

I did mine "Right"... you can do anything "Right" if you know the right people... the most expensive thing I bought was my turbo manifold and that was like $40... Thats a turbo kit with a Turbonetics "star" manifold, Garrett 47trim, XSengineering 38mm WG, Earls plumbing oil lines, and fittings, AGP FMIC, TurboXS MBC, and a tAil BOV...

So yea, I still beg to differ...

So like i said slowly work my way up.. start with making my engine stronger so it can handle some nice boost. So what should i do to my engine first? BTW it has 120,000 miles on it
Whats up homie? I'm in the same boat you are. I bought a 420a last year now i want to start building it. I had the same ideas you do build it up with better internals then boost it. I appriciate your heart and determination. I can't wait untill the day i buy the turbo kit and have it installed. my car has about 118,000 on it. I recently replaced the water pump all the belts and tensioner let me tell you that was a PITA. I dont know why all these people got all worked up over nothing. Just don't let them get to you at the end of the day its what you want and what you have. Have fun with it. As someone mentioned before check your timing belt and water pump but if your putting new internals in it you'll be part way there anyhow.
