Not even with a year warranty? I'm on a tight budget, so where can I find a reliable, yet affordable turbo?

You are playing russian roulette whenever you buy an eBay turbo. I have heard many stories of them breaking and causing a lot of problems and have heard stories of them working fine for many years. For my RS-T, I tried out an eBay turbo because I just needed something to get by. I would never (and didn't) put an eBay turbo on my Talon though because that thing is going to see excess of 15-20 psi and I doubt an eBay turbo can handle that for long.

So, did the ebay turbo stay on your RS-T the entire time you owned it? Were there any problems with it?

I had the eBay turbo on it for about 7-8 months and it never exceeded 7 psi. I made sure to buy an oil restrictor because a buddy told me to and that ebay turbos blow oil seals quick.

Would a 14b or s16g be good on the 420a? They both can be had for cheap, quick spooling, and you can get a mitsu flange welded to the mani for cheap as well.

Problem is, most manifolds for the 420a are cast. Also, the way the manifolds are setup, the 14b's would have a hard time fitting in the engine bay to clear the starter, radiator and fans, etc. Stick with a 420a t3 manifold and some sort of t3-flanged turbo to keep things simple.

That turbo is made for the 420a. Most ebay turbos blow up after 15 psi.

So, my question is, since I'll only run 7-8 psi, should I invest in this turbo?

Why, crappy quality, or just the bad reputation?
