Please Darlings I need your help...

Dearest Eclipse freakazoids,

Please lend me your ears. I need your help on a topic that seemingly is talked about over and over again.. but here is what is different.

I'm just a little bastard who's rich ex-girlfriend bought him an eclipse GST in 98.

Thus.. I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse 98 GST, stock, not a single screw modified with about 68K miles on it.

My stupid turbo decided to get busted and the dealer wants me to pay 1000 dollars for a factory replacement turbo (not even talking about labor).

The smart man that I am decided to check turbo's on the market and they are (I THINK) better than the stock and even cheaper.

So here is where you come in. I need advise!!

I need to choose a turbo for my car..but here is the catch..

I do not care about super speed, nickel plated spinning hoses, and platinum covered nuts and what not.

I just want my car to work, YET, I want the best kit possible, to make it just work, without it being bad for the car itself. (in a similar post in this section of the forum, there was talk about clutch problems??)

Thus if I need to buy a whole new cooling system just so the engine doesn't blow up using my new turbo.. I don't want it.

So it is hard to explain what I mean..so in a nutshell,

I just want the best possible turbo, with my main priority being, the car be in working order. I don't need nor want the best of the best, the newest of the new.. I just want the best compromise between money and performance.

All I can offer as a thanks is a heartfelt thank you, and if you are a gorgeous motor babe... my phone number. (maybe you can work on my car in a tomboy overall, cap put backwards and a thank top, ohh baby!)

Please help?

You can pick up a used t25 for $100 or less.
Then do the labor yourself.
The End.

Just in case you aren't up with the terms the t-25 is your stock turbo.
There are write ups everywhere to replace it and you won't have to make any modifications to your engine. Clean and easy.

Are you serious?

The dealer told me that the stock turbo was 800 dollars, and then I still had to pay for labor!!

ohh damn dude. friggin RIPOFF.

OK I have been reading this forum...

I thought it all would cost me around 1200 dollars. (to replace the stock T25 at the dealer).

So now I'm thinking now about a 16g... you guys are corrupting me damn it!

a 16 g...

I saw a thread about replacing the T25 (thanks Veater!!) with the 16g (I think).

I'll read it.

Does my engine need mods if I go that way?

Yes, you will need fuel mods and something to tune with. Also for a 16g you will also need an install kit.

A 14b would be a nice lil upgrade, with no fuel mods required, and small piping to put on.

Guys, thank you SO much.

I don't know what the heck is wrong with me.. I'm getting power hungry!!

now I'm thinking about the MHI EVO III 16G.

I basiaclly have about 1200 set aside to fix my car.

If I do this (right) .. since this is still my daily driver, will I damage the car (engine) in ANY shape or form? (since there is a pressure increase, cooling etc. etc.

You think I'll make it on this budget?

Do I have a g1 or g2?

(and don't laugh at me)

That is a 2gb. I don't really know what you were refering to by g1 or g2. But I am assuming you were asking for 2ga or 2gb.

I saw that dude!!

Damn brilliant if you ask me!!

Also saw your vids!!!

I wish you lived close by. I just need some buddies to hold my hand while I finally fix this car.

My car has been in my garage for over 1.5 years!!!!

It is time I drove it again, so now I really want to fix it.

I'm trying now to educate myself... as if I'm going to attempt this myself.. I better know what I'm doing, and not just following instructions... because you just don't know if you do it right or not, if you don't understand the why the task is performed and such.

Some guy once stopped at my drive way very knowledgeable about eclipses.. I'm sure he is on this forum. He gave me his number and offered to help me repair my car. I LOST his number!!!

Dude from Pensacola... if you recognice my car... pass by again!!!!
