How do I set it to 12 psi? Or is it already set on the evo III 16g wastegate?

+1! And i haven't read this entire thread but i have one question for the OP, did you get the upgraded flapper on the turbo? Also did you get it porter? If not you're going to probably be dealing with some boost creep issues even with the new o2 housing.

No I didn't get the upgraded flapper nor did I port the turbo.

I didn't know it was a big deal. I guess I can get a dremel tool and port the turbo correct? (intake)

Will the creep be worse than the stock T25? if I don't do this?

Also for now, I won't be going over 12 psi, as I have no feul mods, nor anything to tune it with. Will boost creep still be an issue? (running 12 psi)?

Yeah if you don't port you'll most likely creep pretty bad. 16g's have been notorious for boost creep and just to give you an idea when i first put a 16g on my car my MBC was set at 10 psi and i creeped to about 22 psi. Ifinally got rid of it by porting the turbo and installing an o2 dump. So id suggest look up the porting guide on dsmtuners and the hell out of it!

OK I guess I will read on on porting.

From what I have learned thus far... a dremel would do a decent job.

Any suggestions on what to port? Obviously the exhaust intake. How about the manifold exhaust?

Do I really HAVE to disassemble the turbo? Can I just clog it up with a rag, tape it all airtight and cover everything else with plastic, and port away?

OK I did some research and I know what to do!

Thanks a LOT for telling me this now, that I have nothing installed yet!

I'll keep you guys up to date.

I will also remove the 90 degree air travel bend to the wastegate and have a smoother transition. Also I will make sure that the flapper opens up till it is parallel to the airflow. I have to grind off some material to allow a better opening.

Let me know if there is something else I'm forgetting.

Jerryll.

No problem and on that guide it also shows you how to port the inlet for better spool time and you should also port the ring off your exhaust manifold to match your new turbo.

Crap, didn't see this earlier, but you should have gotten a mechanical boost gauge instead of the electrical one.

You would have saved quite a bit of $ there as well. Oh, and if you order direct from prosport they give us a discount (as stated earlier in this thread)

Thanks Clock, yeah I did some reading and you're right. I'm doing exactly that!

7 inch, will the electric guage not work? or is it just expensive?

Also, do I need to bring the ported surfaces to a mirror finish?

Do I really need to wet sand it to a 1000 grit and polish it? Or is it ok to just get the surface smooth without any dings?

wait a sec...
what guide are you talking about? Do you just mean what ever I have found on the net? or are you reffering to a specific guide?

(Can never have too much "how-to" info.)

Man, I'm (*&#&# PISSED OFF!!!

Slowboyracing SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I orderd the upgrade kit last week monday.

I called them up and asked if it was in stock.. "yeah yeah we have everything".

I pay for it. I call them the next day.. noone picks up. Been calling them for the next3 days and emailed them for a tracking number. NOTHING.

I order all kinds of stuff from Extremepsi and MAP.

Friday comes.. slowly everything arrives except SBR.

I call them, FINALLY someone picks up (tried ALL extensions). Someone tells me "ohh the J-pipe was on back order" I was pissed but didn't show it. Told him, just ship what you have. "OK" he said.

I called Teusday, he told me the part came in yesterday and the order still hasn't been shipped. He tells me it will be shipped "today" (Tuesday). Wednessday... I still see no tracking number. I tried calling.. no one is there the entire day.

Today I called him in the morning.. "OK I will call shipping department to ship the order now".

By now I don't believe a word comming out of his mouth. I call back later in the afternoon (20 minutes ago). Someone else picks up. Guess what, the order is not shipped because it wasn't the J-pipe that was missing, but a friggin crush washer or banjo bolt. So they are still waiting to ship it.

They are honestly a bunch of incompetent IDIOTS!!!!!

HOW hard is it to SHIP what ever you have in store.

For craps sake!!

Other than that, I ported the turbo, removed material so the flapper can open fully.

The manifold is sitting in the CNC milling machine ... I broke a bit and getting a replacement bit tomorrow to finish mani porting.

Then Hopefully SBR can do more than breathe and process an order at the same time so I can get that damn thing in my car.
