OK this is so helpful!!

I am about to order what I need.

TalonSpyder, thanks a lot man. How do we do this? Do I enter your account number or something?

7inchexhaust, That sounds like a good idea!

Hey...

the O2 housing for 130 bucks. It is obviously bigger. I assume it fits the evo turbo on one end, but will it fit the exhaust pipe on the other end?

If I go with my stock O2 housing, do I need to alter it in any way to fit the EVO?

What is the RRE install Kit (can't find it)

Also comparing the MAP instal kit with SBR's...

MAP : Optional: Add an FP 16g install kit for 2g DSM for just $175 which includes a J-pipe, 1G style oil line w/ banjo bolts & crush washers, 7cm turbine inlet gasket, copper crush washers for the water lines, oil drain tube and oil drain gaskets. Your existing 2g water lines are re-used.

SBR:
Slowboy Racing :: DSM :: Do It Yourself Parts :: Misc. :: 2G Install Kit

Now... the MAP sounds good,.. sounds like it has everything I need, even the g1 oil line. Why would I pay 300 dollars for SBR's upgrade install kit? Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hey Talon, do you know for how much you can get the EVO III 16G and the kit for it?

I am setting up my order now, I have also emailed MAP with the following question...

the O2 housing for 130 bucks. It is obviously bigger. I assume it fits the evo turbo on one end, but will it fit the exhaust pipe on the other end?

If I go with my stock O2 housing, do I need to alter it in any way to fit the EVO?

MAP : Optional: Add an FP 16g install kit for 2g DSM for just $175 which includes a J-pipe, 1G style oil line w/ banjo bolts & crush washers, 7cm turbine inlet gasket, copper crush washers for the water lines, oil drain tube and oil drain gaskets. Your existing 2g water lines are re-used.

Now... the MAP sounds good,.. sounds like it has everything I need, even the g1 oil line. Why would I pay 300 dollars for SBR's upgrade install kit? Am I missing something?

from what you guys have thought me so far...

the upgrade looks like it is just the 1g oil feed line, water line and some washers. The MAP just says "J pipe". I'm wondering if it is metal or just a replacement pipe for my stock.

Here is what I'd want...

I do not want to mechanically alter anything in this install. That is the reason why I went for the EVO III O2 housing, and not widen the slots on the stock one.

So I would want a 1g oil feed pipe, and anything else I don't need to bore out.

having said that could you guys double check this order and see if I'm actually ordering what I want?

I had hoped they were still open but they are closed. I had hoped to order the parts today so I could get them Friday and have the weekend to install it all.

If anyone knows the answer to these questions, please feel free to answer.

I'm almost there. Sorry it is taking 6 pages to get this far.. but almost!!

Don't get the evo 3 o2 housing.

Also I'm pretty sure the FP install kit that you have there already comes with an oil feed line.

Take both of those out of your maperformance "shopping cart"

And just get a megan racing o2 housing. (maperformance sells them)

WOW, thanks man!!!

There are 2, the "dsm" and the "Evo" version.

I assume I am getting the "evo" correct?

And yes you're right, the FP kit comes with the feed line!

Thanks for helping me man!

OK here is what I have so far.

I also ordered new bolts to attach my turbo to the exhaust manifold from EtremePSI.

Also, do I need a boost guage?

Any suggestions on which Turbo Timer to get?

UPDATE:

I decided to follow 7"exhaust's advise and go for the SBR's turbo kit. It has hard piping, and a hard oil return (1g) pipe.

Should be an overall better package I think (but more expensive).

Sounds good right?

Yes, you will need a boost guage. I recommend Prosport. Enter team2g for the discount code. This is supposed to be a good turbo timer HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer - Black (USA Spec) :: HKS Turbo Timer :: Turbo Timer Store

what's next?

I placed my order on the 16th :)

It will be here hopefully tomorrow. While I wait, can you guys help me with some knowledge on what I should do next?

I have seen big posts on boost settings and tuning.

do I need to do any of this? I don't need too much more HP beyond the POS T25.

Any advise? DO I need to get something to tune or set boost?

thanks !

Since you dont have any fuel mods, you wont need anything to tune, as far as boost, just run stock boost to be safe. Around 12psi should be fine.

Thanks for your order! I noticed that you order a DSM Turbocharger and an Evo O2 Housing. These are not going to work together. Let me know if this is correct or if you needed something different.

So I changed it to the megan dsm one. I assume it still fit the 16g.
