Haha damnrookie you crack me up!
Just realize that while modifying these cars there is alot of things that you need to include, just "slapping" on a big turbo is not usually the best way to go.

HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
good ref!!
Let me read it!!
yeahhh... MAAAAAYbe I should go for the 14g (even saying that I felt the balls shrink a bit).
I just don't want to ovehaul the whole car just to put a turbo in it... then again... if my engine /car will still be able to take it.. without ANY damage...
I reckon... if I have to go through all the trouble to take the turbo out.. why not do it right immediately.
All I know for SURE..
is I want a better turbo and a bigger clutch.
I wish I could go for the 16G.
Regardless I need to take my old turbo out.. so that doesn't depend on my descision which turbo to replace it with..
so I still have some time to think and research this forum.
Feel free to convince me to buy either a 14 B or a 16G..
just don't let my rookieness be a factor to opt for the lower turbo.. cause with my ever growing balls, and all you wrench monkies on this forum... I feel safe to tackle any car problem.
I just returned my lawn mower and got an additional 200 bugs WHOOO HOOO..
I bought the jack stands, and the socket set and torque wrench!
Got me some ribs too.. so after the grill... I'll start fiddling with the car.
I'll eat one for you guys!!
cheers...
and thanks again !!

Haha.
Its totally up to you what you do. Both could be fine. Oh and p.s. its a 14b :)
The big advantage of getting a 14b is that they can be found for very cheep.
Just do lots of reading and you will find lots of awesome info.

If you do the 14b now, you will want to upgrade later, so just do it right now, saves money in the long run

Im still not sure damnrookie, do you just want to get it running with a little more power? Or are you going to keep modifying this car in the future.
If you are just getting it going i would go 14b, but if you are making this car your project car, 16g all the way.

OK you guys are right..
I need to decide what I want.
Here is what I want...
I will do this only once...so I will not upgrade later. So yes, I really want the 16G.
The only reason why I get discouraged...
I read that list of things I need on another thread in this section..
man I need a TON of stuff!!
EVO III 16g
FMIC
2G install kit
550cc injectors
S-AFC II
Boost gauge
Wideband
Greddy type-s BOV
Dual stage boost controller
3" N1 catback
255 pump
Ported O2
Aeromotive FPR
1g tb
Honestly I don't yet know what each thing does or how much it costs. I have to do a search on it.
Onelove showed me a link to read and learn. I am still doing that.
You know...
I MAY still do it even if I need all that. But if I have to maintain it obsessively to keep the engine from harm.. I'll be better of with a turbo that it is just slap in and forget about it.
Not even sure if the 14b falls under that category.
So ues...
I do want the car running.... as long as it is street legal, and I want the best turbo I can afford and I can install on my own.
Can I get a 16g and just not boost it, so to the engine's best knowledge there is still a T25 init? Or does it not work that way.

You came here wanting to know where to get a replacement t25 so your car could run again. Now you're hyped up off your ass about doing a fair bit of modding, and you can't change your damned oil? I think you need to slow down a bit, rookie.
And just so I can fit in with this thread;
like OMG!!!!
16 G Nutsack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously dudes!!!

LOL!!..
pres is hilarious. ---
damnrookie, best of luck with your upgrade. i wouldn't be big help with giving you advise since i'm still a learner with the dsm engine and also debating wether to turbo or not.
whatever you do, just make sure to follow write-ups and do the job carefully. be sure that you are doing what you're supposed to before you break something lol. thats what pres meant to say, if you can barely change the oil, doing all the mods might be a big challenge for you.
Good LUck!

Just read up and take everything one step at a time. TBH a big help to me was looking at a turbo kit and figuring what each piece in the system does. It's really not too complicated.
I am however still a little confused on how you set the boost. I believe it have to do with the BOV and you set the BOV to the PSI you want and anything else is released...but I'm not sure.
For your car you have some well tested results for PSI that don't involve much more than a new manifold and a new turbo. You can even use your side mount (but I guess it leaks?) I dunno. Just read up. You'll figure it out.

Setting boost is involved with the wastegate. The wastegate is set to open a passage way at a certain pressure to then allow air to go through that pasage way instead of the turbo (simplified terms). This allows the turbo to stop spooling higher, and to hold a certain amount of pressure. A boost contoller just alters the amount of pressure needed for the wastegate to open.
The bov just releases the air that was previously going into the engine when you let off the gas. and goes pshhhhhhh!!!
edit: fozzymuphet! You live in olympia, crazy. If you are planning on boosting your car and need help, just holler at me. Ive always wanted to help boost a 420a.
Oh and damnrookie, you wont need a new manifold.
Pres95, you freaking make me laugh lol. Your awesome.

Ok so you know what you want, thats good. It sounds like your goals are somewhat the same like me. Some really decent power but not extreme and still good reliability and mpg on a daily driver, street setup not drag.
The list you posted sure all works and helps but some things aren't really needed. Some are, some are more supportive mods for if you want to tune beyond of just bolting stuff on.
I'll quote your list and add my personal opinion about the items. Correct me where I'm going wrong, I'm not a real dsm expert.

S-AFC II [SEMI-NEED] (again only needed if you go above factory boost)

Greddy type-s BOV [NEED] (other brands like HKS will also do fine,)
Dual stage boost controller [SEMI NEED]
3" N1 catback [SEMI NEED] (going with a 2.5" is also just fine, saves money and is good enough for your setup imo. your current exhaust will also be fine but holds some power back)
255 pump [NEED] (190 is enough for your future setup)
Ported O2 [NOT NEEDED] (but adds power)
Aeromotive FPR [NOT NEEDED] (afaik only needed if you boost to like 20psi or more)
1g tb [NOT NEEDED] (like the exhaust, it's not really needed but it helps)

again; correct me where I'm going wrong.

Damnrookie, are you on drugs? Overdose sugar? Whatever it is, it must be good. Damn you look so hyper to me!

Wow, thanks man!!
That definitely helps a LOT.
Yeah guys, I'm still reading up on everything...
also... I don't know how to change my oil.. yes.. but thats just because I never done it before.. not that I can't do it.
Come on.. I build and design combat robots for the gov. How hard can changing oil be?
t'was never meant as setting up my capability limit... was more as a joke...
and no... no drugs...
just a happy dude here.
Anyways.. back to taking out the turbo!
