Not flaming you but I thought it was funny how you mention that it's lasted that long. I have seen a couple threads on tuners with guys having good luck but I wouldn't risk it. I'd rather buy a used REAL 16g then a new fake one. That's my opinion though.

If your on a budget go for it and while you are at it buy a complete MHI 16G rebuild internals for when and IF it does go out, i have heard that the housings are not the problem,..its cheap internals using poor materials. If you dont pay top dallor you wont get the top line product we all strive for.
Seriously now, you can expext much from a turbo that was built by a 6 year old chinese kid that get paid 2 cents a hour with the only previous experience is sewing sandals together.

Also, why are you putting money into a company that is knocking off a turbo that was researched with some cheap metal piece of crap thats only purpose is to steal money from the manufacturer of actual QUALITY turbochargers. Putting something this crucial to your engines life, and something that needs to have very tight tolerances on your car that was built by a company in china that I wouldn't trust with a micrometer is something that just dumbfounds me.
I would have thought that $200 for the ease of mind that the turbo wont die on you in 2k miles would have been worth it. Guess I overestimate some DSMers.

yeah. The thread was based on ONE guys success with the ebay turbo though.
let me tell you, that guy is one lucky bastard.
Basically ask yourself this: "How lucky am I?" right before ordering your ebay turbo.
Having your ebay turbo hold up on you is nearly the same chances as winning the lottery.
That about, sums it up.

Mine is going on 3 months with no problems. Worth the $200 so far IMO.

thats not the only case, the thing with these ebay turbos is you either get a good one or not, it all depends on certain factors, and theres arguments for both sides, i personally know a few people running the ebay turbos and have had no problems, if i didnt get my real 16g at such a good price i would of probably tried out an ebay turbo
