greddy 18g or evo 3 big 16g

Personally i think the greddy upgrade kit is not worth the money but i wanted to ask your opinions. I believe the two turbos flow about the same and a friend asked me why would i get the smaller turbo that flows the same? Is there any validity to his point or would best bet be to go with the 16G? Im relatively new to all this so please dont bash me terribly if i asked a dumb question.

how much is the greddy?

I'm pretty sure the evo 3 16g would be a better choice. It's a proven turbo. Probably cheaper as well.

And if they both flow the same, but one turbo is "smaller", then logic points me towards the smaller turbo spooling quicker, hence why waste your time and money with an 18g? At least the greddy 18g. There is a new FP 18g that I've heard is pretty good, but there is some controversy about the quality of it.

In short: just stick with an MHI evo 3 16g.

the 18g's are usually sold in the Greddy kit and is not worth the cost. A 16g will run you $540 + 2g install kit

They flow nearly identical

16g ftw

alright thanks 16G was where i was headed. ive looked up prices and about 700 for everything needed to install the 16g and like 1900 for the greddy. I figured i'd get this answer but i was just checking to see if the 18 g would have any advantages.

While on this topic, are there any install kits for the 16g that are better than others? I've looked at extreme psi, buschur, rre and all vary slightly in price but i was just wondering if one was better than another.

now dont go filling his head w/ crazy non-achievable numbers, 14b's have gone 11's and i believe 10's but no one here is gonna pull that off. I know nate crisman former owner of DSMotorsport who had an 11sec 14b car. Lets just say the car was fully gutted beyond belief w/ a 200 shot of nitrous to make it go 11.4

Yea it is Joe Bucci"s 1g gst. it is fully stripped but it still went 9s very imprssive. But here is a more realalistic number for you. a good friend of mine went 11.7 in his full body gsx 99 still had ac in it. very supportive system. BC272's, wally 255, fic650s, tial gate, exhaust fmic, and DSMLink.
