Finally got my 3" Downpipe made

Yep, I FINALLY got rid of my ghetto homemade downpipe and had a 3" downpipe made for me. Here's a few pics for now. I have the wideband O2 installed (I use the O2 sensor simulator output wire right now) but have a sparkplug plugging the other O2 sensor bung until I can intall the factory O2 sensor tomorrow.

Its definitely a tight fit when you still have your air conditioning!

$385 with tax included. Its aluminized piping, stainless was like $100-$150 more and not needed since I'll probably switch turbo setups within a year or two anyways.

Looks real nice. The bend and weld marks make it look like something hardcore.

Yes indeed it is,lol. It is either 2.25" or 2.5" and will be replaced soon enough. It was obviously used on the pre-existing crappy OEM setup....good eye though, haha.

I plan on making a 3" Y-pipe in its place with an actuated bypass from HERE if they ever start producing the damn thing again. Its the best bet for the sleeper without the ability to just shove a full exhaust system on the thing. I dont like the "Quicktime Performance" bypass since its motor driven and takes 5 full seconds to open. The actuator concept is a smarter concept IMO.

I think that's it right there. It was just a plug to keep water out of the downpipe

I haven't tested it with the setup yet since I am re-doing tons of things on my setup. Ordered my Modern Performance 60mm throttle body yesterday and a new EGT sensor since I broke mine taking my manifold off a while back.

I cant fit 2 fans side by side because of the downpipie clearance so I bought a new slimline fan for the drivers side and I will just hook it up off of the ignition until I feel motivated enough to install a second 'pusher' fan in front of the radiator on the passenger side. I just wrapped the first 12" of the downpipe with heat wrap to keep the radiant heat from affecting the radiator and upper raditaor hose temps for now too. I also bought a bigger tranny cooler today as well.

My goal this season is to approach stock EVO 1/4 mile times before I swap in my 5 speed....all on the stock internals and stock head. Hey, its a goal...we need goals, lol. I basically need to shave a half second off my previous 1/4 mile time I've had (which only a FEW people know I've run, hehe).
