Exclamation bov oil :(

today i noticed when i opened my hood there was oil on the openeing of my bov hmmm not good so i took it to a shop and everytime i hit boost mostley around 4,5 k a little oil would come out they thought it was the turbo but the turbo was replaced a stock replacement when i bought the car so we took off the intake and felt the fan in the turbo for any movement or displacement everything felt tight and in place so i was told it wasnt the turbo it was the hose comming off the engine into the air intake which was causing my problem and was told to get a breather inreplace of the tube comming off the motor into the intake .... anyone agree on what i was told?

a catch can will help but if the oil is actually coming OUT OF your BOV, you have more to worry about

Possible blown turbo seals.

that or just normal blowby... Key issue here is CAN SEE THE OPENING OF THE BOV WITHOUT TAKING THINGS APART>

swap the PCV out as well and fix that problem beofre you create even more for yourself... sounds like the damage is done though.

yep the major problenm, and one that can cause excessive blowby is ricerdom.

Are yu aware the the bov doesn't jsut open when you go PSSSHHH, butalso anytime the car is at cruise or decel or otehr high vacuum conditions? and you are jsut sucking up dirt into the intake...
Plus you are leaning the car out at that time and running rich between shifts, neither of which is super good for it either.

I agree with AE unless you have a VPC like myself you should be using a recirc kit. You should really use a recirc kit regardless unless your bov has a filtered outlet or its a SSQV which only opens when theres a difference in pressure between your pipes and intake mani, and even then I've seen SSQV's that leaked at idle because they weren't closing all the way.
