Haha yeah that's what I figured. I just always say what the abbreviation means and it just never makes sense reading like that lol.

And I agree with the grammar. Mine isnt great, but some things just bother me

you need a boost controller unless you are gonna run wastegate only...

you teach engrish!! you must hate me! lol I know I'm the worst. But hey! their you'r go! heheh

N E way

The HKS BOV is not the best IMHO. It is what is known as a reversed valve. ( or reversed control. what ever you like ) in short where other BOV's use the pipe pressure to open the bov the HKS unit uses the pressure to SEAL the valve. This is a good thing B/C it's not likely to leak ( then then the fact it's a plastic valve and the older ones are plastic in whole. ) the more boost the more that holdes it closed.

Sounds all good right? Well the down side is that since the pressure is holding it closed. The way the diaphram works is like this. The intake is under pressure ( foot in the gas ) the pipe pressure and the manifold pressure is keeping it closed. You take your foot off the gas and the manifold goes in to vac. ( and this TRIES to open the valve ) BUT the pipe pressure SPIKES. Now he manifold vacume has to be greater then the pressure holding it closed to open it and this could take some time ( time reletive to how fast this all takes place. talking in the ms range ) this put a great deal of pressure/load on the compressor wheel ( and staft/bearings of the turbo ) till the first small valve opens ( a HKS SSBOV has a valve with in a valve. 2 valves ) then the second opens when the first is reached it's travle limit. The pipe pressure is only going up ( and slowing the turbo! ) in this case. Another reason it's not a "Good" bov for everyone. It's very hard to explain on here but I'm trying!

This all means every shift is a larger load then needs to be placed on the turbo. This is why a HSK BOV is so loud Vs. others (small valve and huge pressure discharge ) It's not very often I see a 16G go more then a year with out major damage being done to it. ( as it's the most comon combo I see. 16G and HKS BOV, Most with larger turbo's need/want a larger bov )

I call it the turbo killer. I at one time had 4-5 of this POS (IMHO again) on the shelf. All removed with blown turbo's and replaced with a 1G BOV. a leaking stem Greddy type S or a soft spring Tial (for the SD cars)

A good BOV for a car that is not looking for a long service life of a turbo, that doesn't want to deal with a leaking BOV holding them back. and runs more boost then a "Normail" car does where a 1G/greddy units wouldn't stay closed ( unless a spring change in a greddy is done then it will compressure surge when boost is around 10-14 PSI and the TB closes. Higher lvl's it will work. I don't run the lower port on a Greddy BOV B/C the valve stem leaks air and hooking this up to the pipe would in effect be a boost leak. )

Ahh BOV's what a joy!

Hope this info helps some.
