Stand Alone Fuel Management System

my car is going in for a total overhaul and i was wondering what kind of stand alone you would suggest, i dont want a piggyback system total stand alone

AEM EMS is starting to become the standard and the software is very up to date. I think if you have a 2G then DSMlink is a good unit although not a standalone.

yeah i want to go with a total stand alone but i dont want to have a laptop do u know any units that are about the size of an air to fuel controller

Well then I would just go with a piggyback system, they work well and most likely will be fine for the application you are looking for.

well i have heard of stand alones that come in a unit pre programmed with a basic map, and it doesnt require a lap top but it isnt a piggyback

As far as I know there isn't a big demand for them for DSMs so noone makes one. Honestly, just stick with a VPC or SAFC to tune.

SDS SimpleDigitalSystems I think they are out of Canada. Full stand alone with a small rich/lean control knob and another control box about the size of a big palm pilot. I used it for a short amount of time on a previous car. Turbo 420A Dodge Avenger. Not too bad of a system. Good technical suport, and the control box navigates somewhat like an SAFC. It's worth looking into if you plan on making some serious powa. You tell them exactly what you have like turbo, injector size, fuelpump size, fuel pressure, engine size etc., and they do some pre-basic programing. All this info is from 2002. I have not heard much about them since then. sdsefi.com

I have the AEM ECU. I love it but then again ive also had lots of help to learn how to use it. It is definetly not for beginners

maybe some day I will use a stad alone system but for now a piggy back system is good enough for me
