I was wondering if this turbo was in the same family at the T28

No. Thats a pretty large T3 Turbo you would need a T3 manifold with External wastegate flange, an external wastegate, and a custom Turbo extension (o2 housing) to fit that on your GSX.

bigger = not t25 family.

you have to look into mitsu (NOT HAHN!!!) turbos in terms of bolt on units.
16g, Evo III, etc.

yes. ANd If i am not mistaken it is a "frankenstein/bastard turbo itself, with a non familial impeller

known as a t2 familey, t25 and t 28

now all t28's are the same. some are just compressor upgrade wile others ( better ) ones are turbine and compressor upgrade. The prob is that the DSM people are so fixed on a name. WTF we have 3-4 turbo's "called" 16G when only one is TRUELY a 16G. "Trim" was invented to help advoid this but marketing doesn't like it since a trim can be lower and flow more ( case in point a 56 trim out flows a 57 trim. )
