I have a 50 trim precision turbo that came out of my friends gst, it came out cuz the turbines stopped spinning , can it be rebuilt , where would i find the kit if it can be , and is it worth it , any input would help at this point

you mean it seized?

turbo's can be rebuilt, there is a great place down in my neck of the woods in fullerton called Clutch Specialties..give them a ring. They rebuilt my t-28 killer when I had it for $300

the turbo at one point stopped receiving oil through a failure in the oil system and right after that i checked out the blades and suck and they hit the compressor housing somewhat and the blades are bent/broke where they hit the housing. turbo is currantly apart and it seems that maby rather than the oil system failing that a seal may have blwn because there is some evidince of oil in the compressor itself. and when the car ran with tur turbo still on it smoked up a storm.

Your going to need a new center piece (the part with the blades), which means that you'll probably be better off buying a new turbo ..

It was about $700 for a new one for my turbo ..

Throw it in the trash (or sell it on ebay), head feed the next one with a restrictor and filter in the line, and don't get another PTE turbo!

You can always send it back to PTE or FP and they can rebuild it.
