Intercooler setup for a 16g >>>???
i wanted to find out whats the best size intercooler to use on a 16g for now, and then be upgraded to a 57 trim turbo ?? I want the intercooler to be able to handle 600 max HP .
What size should i go with 24x12x3 ???
I have been haveing some trouble trying to get a intercooler for a 16g setup, can i still use my LICP for my 16g turbo on a front mount, does anyone know how hard it is to bolt up to a intercooler that has a outlet of both sides of the intercooler ? Because i have seen those ones that have a inlet/outlet on 1 side of the intercooler......
Or even better if you go to my profile and look at the HKS intercooler, what would i have to do to use this inteercooler, if you look closely the inlet/outlet is 3' and it clocks a little off the endtank, so i was just wondering if it was possible as well to use this. This Intercooler sold for $1750 as a kit from HKS, yes thats right a true HKS Bar and Plate intercooler. My friend sold his car, i begged him for it, and not to sell the intercooler with it. Lucky enough, we struck a deal.

well im not sure of the size but i dont think your LICP will go with a FMIC, you might just be better of with custom ICP. I know that the size intercooler that you mentioned will definitely be good with a 57 trim though.

I bought a kit for my 2G from them (haven't installed it yet) great quality, and they are willing to work with ya on your needs. (I have an EVO III 16G btw). All the pipes are nicely made, great welds on the IC, nice T-bolt clamps.
Explain to them what your concerns are, and I am sure they can accomodate whatever setup you plan on going to.

How much was your intercooler kit ? because i have a Evo big 16g as well, and want a front mount for it, without paying out the ass. Or use my HKS core. But i need pipeing for it.

It was like $720.00 delivered. More than some Ebay kits, but less than other kits offered at the various DSM parts sites. I think it is a good value for the $$.

Im also running the 16g and if you go to extrememotorsports.com they have a good set up also. I paid a little over a grand but I love the set up and that was with a new turbo smart bov. The intercooler is 24x12x4 and they will weld the piping to fit whatever your running. Its def. cool. Mine is the short rout, one pipe from the intercooler all the way up to the mafs. on the inlet side they have one pipe going from the intercooler to the bottom of my j pipe. It is also realy easy to install the only real time spent on mine was shaving my bumper.
