4g63/turbo or aftermarket turbo to the stock gs motor?

should i swap in the gst motor or would it be better to add on an aftermarket kit?

also could anyone post the available tuning software out there?

Just letting you know.....LEARN TO USE THE SEARCH BUTTON. Very useful. This question you have has been answered 213498531761784623817673161096716 Times and counting. Just saving you some flaming, Others might not take you lightly.
And to answer your question... You CAN'T drop a 4g63 motor in your GS. Too many factors and would cost WAY TOO MUCH. And it wouldnt be worth it spending 15-20g's for a STOCK GST. Just sell it and but a gst/gsx. Its your best bet.. since you asked this question.

so i can swap the head, but i cant swap the motor?

edit:

no offense but i just did a search on "turbo" in the spyder section and came up with only two pages, and maybe only four threads dealing with turbo swaps, perhaps a sticky would be in order so these threads dont get asked 65498735135468761321 times....

Hey. Sorry i just thought about it.. My mind is somewhat gone. Anyways are you trying to do the 2.4 turbo w/ 4g63head or trying to drop a 4g63 in your car?
From what I got your trying to drop in the 4g63 motor?

whatever is easier, i have access to a 4g63 motor with stock turbo at a shop.

or should i do a dohc swap with turbo

or just turbo the stock 4g64 and wait till the head gasket blows before i do the dohc swap.

Well dropping the complete 4g63 motor is not worth your time.
Well if you have access to a 4g63 and you have a daily driver. Do the 4g63 head swap and turbo it. Im reading from other forums other than t2g for this topic.
Ill see if i can get you better info tommorow, but for now sleep time!

From what I've read, by putting the head and turbo from a 4g63 on your 4g64, gives you the equivalent of a stroker motor but with more torque.

I hope after this you will not need to ask more about this problem.

- Swap engine : cost much more than turbo your own 4G64
- Swap the DOHC head : will not help you much unless you have a turbo
- Turbo 4G64 : money efficiency and better performance compare to the 4G63 engine swap
- Things should do after turboed the 4G64 : built the internals, swap the DOHC head. After this step, you have much more power than any 4G63.

hey thanks man!

okay so swap the turbo first, then when the head gasket blows upgrade to the dohc head.

should i source out the stock turbo components or peice together an aftermarket setup? i know the manifold bolt patterns are the same.

also can someone send me in the right direction for tuning software for the 4g64?

Go to Turbo Upgrade section and look for "Turbo list for 4G64" I posted before. I believe my set up will bring 4G64 to 300whp.

Nope!

Not in my eyes any ways. The only advantage a 2.4L has over the 2.0L is the 2.4L is able to spool the turbo faster. A forced induction car is only limited in HP to the size of turbo and amount of boost you run. Also majority of the really fast guys (sub 10) still run the 2.0l block.
