I'm gonna lose my mind...

ok, my O2 sensors came in today and I bought a whole bunch of stuff to install them. So I got home, jacked my Talon TSi AWD up, and looked for the O2 sensors. I looked for them in the little Haynes manual for my car but they only show the location of the O2 sensors for the 2000+ V6!! Not only that but the way they explain the installation is TERRIBLE!! It really doesn't seem like too hard of a install if you get the right parts and information. I have all the parts (Torque wrench, O2 sensors and O2 sensor socket), but I'm not sure where the two sensors are! I know one is only a few inches away from the catalytic converter and I thought the other one was on the lower part of the O2 housing isn't it?
You guys all know a hell of alot more then I do and have mroe experience so could you also let me know what would be the best parts to use and help me out with some advice to remove the bad ones and install the new ones?

I looked for a post that was similar to my problem but I couldn't find one, but I also don't have much patience so i may have skipped over it... if there is a similar one, just tell me where that post is rather than wasting your time typing it up again.

Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?!?! Do0d! Follow the exhaust pipe. Start at the cat and work your way to the front of the car. It's not hard to spot something that looks like the part you're holding in your hand coming out of a plain old piece of exhaust pipe. Unless the 4G63s are super special and magical-like, I doubt they have a lot of shit wired into the exhaust piping. Get back under that car and change those fuckers. Jesus.

sorry man.. lol... i do feel like a dumbass for even asking where they were but I just wanted to make sure I knew where they were. I tried to take them both off but the upstream one was hard to fit the torque wrench in there to take it out and the downstream one was just so rusted I didn't have the patience to take it off. The upstream one seems like quite a task to take off... any tips to get that little bugger off?

First of all, I'm sure you don't need a torque wrench to take it off. Just put the o2 socket on a regular ratchet and unscrew that ish! You might want to use PB Blaster to loosen it up a bit.

I know I don't need the torque wrench to take it off but I have to on installing right? Alot of people have told me always follow torque specifications...
Also, I did use PB blaster and even let the engine run for a couple minutes so it would expand a little bit.

You don't have to worry about torque specs on a O2 sensor, its not the critical. Your not rebuilding the motor or installing any gaskets right? Only certian things need to be torqued to specs. Try using WD-40, let it soak for a couple of minutes and put some muscle into it.
