This is gonna sound stupid, but I had a simular problem. Loud pop in the rain, and I couldn't figure out what it was. Not the struts, not the breaks. So I broke down and took it to the dealership. Come to find out that the suspension needs to be lubricated with lithium grease. Now, they had to put my car on a lift . Loosen the bolts that connect the suspension to the uni-body on the bottom of the car. he lubed it up. Then re-tightened it up...I never had the problem again. Who knows it worked for me.
