Air ride suspension?

Hey I was wondering what you guys think about air ride suspension. Is it better or worse than regular springs and shocks? Is anyone running air suspension on their cars. Any info will help. Let me know, thanks.

I have seen this on a 2g spyder. IMO a good set of coil overs is just as good of ride, and less money. Also 2g's are more race cars and i have heard of cases where the air bags have poped.

He owns a shop in Conn and has installed air ride on a dsm before. Hes very good and can tell you a lot of information.

I'm all about racing and performance, ( I also enjoy showing) but the last thing I need is to lug around an compressor in my car. The air ride set up imo is to much weight if you're into racing.

Thanks i'll def IM him to get some more info. I know air ride is known mostly on show cars but a lot of older hot rods sport em' and still race...thats where my idea came from. We'll see..

with air ride bags are not your only option, you can also use cylinders. An old friend of mine put them on his, but i havent heard form him in a long time.
If it's for looks i think its great, but you you're into GO i dont think you should waist your time or money with it.

If your looking for comfort I would go with air bags all the way.

Air bags are alright and all but you have to worry about the damn compressor that will go in your trumk-and it's a little on the loud side to me when it's filling up i'd just spend all that money on your suspension and you'll have a much smoother ride
