Close happy?
I understand some threads should be closed for bad language, bickering, w/e. But should threads really be closed for repetive questions? All you're doing is filling the "search" with a bunch of threads saying search and getting closed. Post useful links before you close it at least so people that actually search don't have to wade through the "use the search" bullshit.
Prime example,

I agree with Steve. Or the "his question was answered" closes.

You're right Steven. We use to do it that way, but it must have got so repetitive that we just got confortable with the lock. Most of the garbage threads get deleted after a few days so that they don't clutter the search.

The whole purpose to locking a thread where the question has been answered is that...the question has been answered, there is no need to continue the thread and take up space.

I just used my judgment, and there is NO point for the thread to continue.
Only thing that could come out of it being open, is other people might add their 2 cents in, whether it is correct or not, and confuse the OP.

Just because a question has been answered doesn't mean the thread should be closed. There could be further elaboration, exlanation, or possibly more questions from the OP that could piggy back onto the thread rather than opening a new one. I don't see the point in closing a thread has stayed on topic with no false answers or pointless chatter.

It was a simple question and has been answered, and the guy who replied just re-answered it which there was no need for.

I would have closed that one for the sheer reason that I couldn't understand the damn question. And yes I know he isn't from the US.

It really just depends on the thread. Yes, Shane you are right, but in certain threads that isn't applicable. Also, I am not close happy and haven't closed barely any threads.

If any of the mods should be accused of being "close happy" it should be Mike and I. We are just doing what we feel right, and we respect you guys' opinion.

That's fine, but sometimes things can be proven wrong or a better suggestion can come up. Then a whole new thread has to be started.
Thanks for the feedback though.
