Slowboyracing.com
This will be cross-posted in the Coffee Break forum.
I am appreciative on everybodies experiences. However I see too many people just repeat what they hear without first hand knowledge. Though that is a staple of the internet knowledge pool, it is often times misleading. A perfect example is every bodies standing of slowbayracing.com. I have heard 20 some odd times that they have ****ty customer service, and have rediculous wait times on their shipping. Which is just not the case. I ordered a flywheel and LSD insert on a Monday and recieved my package on that Friday. Quite the joyous surprise after many members here had steered much business away from them, saying that you were better off walking to their location and picking it up yourself. Maye I had a fluke transaction, or maybe whomever started all of this had the fluke.
Point being, don't believe everything you hear.
On a Resource note, shipping charges were only $7.95, pretty good in my book.

yeah well they stiffed me for MONTHS. I called up, "you have this 6 bolt short block in stock and ready to ship right"? "YEP".
place my order, don't get any confirmation or expected ship date....
ON the 5th call (one call a day) I finally got a human (the previous 4 I got a machine which promised a call back which never happened. , "2 weeks till it ships".
2 weeks pass I call for an update, same issue... This time I threaten to cancel my order and dispute the charges with my CC company unless I hear back from them by close of business... they didn't want to lose $4 grand worth of order so I got a call back... 2 more weeks.
IT went on like this for 3 funking months. The final straw was the engine was ready, but they had to wait on some other parts of my order that they were out of stock on... another 2 weeks delay... when they had 3 months to get them...
Then they did not ship it to the shop, they tried to ship it to my house, despite the " online bill" clearly indicating the shop's address, not mine (I don't even have a cherry picker at the house b/c no garage and I rent.) and it was even a week later again than i had been promised.
AM i the only person who has had FIRST HAND EXPERIENCES like this? NO! My buddy loved them, had several quick orders, but the first time there was a problem/ out of stock on something, the guys from slowboy were impossible to get in touch with, etc etc, just like my scenario.
THAT is not customer service. Hiding and lying to avoid getting orders cancelled is not good service. Slowboy sucks, and no one should ever buy from them so they can go right out of business with their shoddy practices, and often cheapo copied china parts.
Have I EVER EVER EVER had any type of negative experience at all (or has anyone) with RRE or JNZ tuning? NO. The only one bad experience I ever even READ about was some guy who made his very first order and wanted stuff in two day... And he was upset at the delay because RRE couldn't verify the CC to the address he wanted stuff delivered, and could not proceed with the order, and couldn't get in touch with him. (think scammer/ CC thief? I did). I spent a couple of grand with them, and have spent < $50 too and in both cases I was well treated and my stuff arrived exactly when It was supposed to or earlier, and I got a follow up call to make sure everything came in ok and there were no issues. And when I call and leave a message, I get a call back within 24 hours, usually within 2.
That is customer service, and I don't care if the Slowboy charges $10 less, I don't support cheats, cowards, and con men.
And my experience was JUST a year ago.

i ordered something from them alittle over a week ago and have not recieved it. i got an email saying it was sent to the shipping department. that was on the 7th. i got nothing stating if it was shipped or anything. i check the order status page its just an invoice with no ship date or anything. to me not being her in a week is super slow. i they were in cali i would be like ok cool. there in pa. there place is like 4 hours from my door. i actually ordered a intake from dejon the same day and got that last friday. now mine may not be as serious as attack eagles. but i just got my dsm. i plan on buying all types of stuff from turbo, intercooler, coilovers, even a 6bolt longblock and tons of other expensive stuff. let me tell you after this first small order slowboy will not see another pennie from me. im glad they worked out for you c mcbeath, but one bad order is enough for me.

like i said i mean you guys may have gotten lucky. i for one did not. i made my order 10 days ago and have yet to recieve it. i could have walked to pick it up by now. there place is a 5 hour drive from me. i tried there ups tracking on their page also to see if it was sent out. i used my order number as per the instructions. there is not package for that number. so it hasnt been mailed yet i assume.
like said im glad you had a good experiance this is my first and last tiem ordering from them. like i said i plan on doing alot of work to my dsm. i was looking at their 6 bolt long blocks turbos and all types of stuff. now after this i wont order any of that from there.
bad shipping procedures is bad business to me. im sure they lost a few customers from this. i mean me for example. had the order i placed been smooth. they would have stood to get about 10k of my money. now ill be giving them nothing. there are other places. they may be more money , but if they ship in a timely manner im better off.

I used to deal with slowboy all the time before i moved to florida. i lived 40 mins from their location. It all depends on who you get to help you. some guys up there are just crack heads who don't know their a$$ from their face. then their are some who will get things done asap. everytime you call you get a machine just push one of the numbers to talk to someone.
i put a turbo kit on a 98 rs from them and i had nothing but problems with the car. but everytime there was a problem they were there and fixed it within a day or two.

*UPDATE* - Do not buy from slowboy.com , me and my buddies are boycotting them, here's why -
My Friend bought a crankshaft from them, which they clearly stated that is was new and not reground, when he got it , it was reground, so the called them to tell them they sent him the wrong crank. They wanted $200 to resend them him the new crank, he was like WTF why would i send you more money when you guys messed up, all they did was give him the run around. Second he ordered another crank, and they sent him the wrong bearings, now they are saying they wont give him a refund, and pretty much he's stuck with what he's got. Also did i mention my friend has a wholesale account with them, and they still treated him like ****. They got ****ty customer service, they Lie about what they sell, and they are thieves. Reguardless what anyone says, they suck !!!!

Hmmm...I ordered a BOV through them 2 fridays ago, and got it in my p.o box on the wednesday after. They said it was going to be probably 5-6 business days, and it was only 3 business days. I'll be a repeat customer.

Incredibly late update, I accidentally ordered a 6 bolt flywheel bolt kit, with that little plate. I called them up and told them my situation thinking I just needed an extra bolt and would pay for it and the shipping. They reminded me that I'd need a new plate too (oops) and sent both with no extra charge with the provision I sent the other plate back. Since it fit in an envelope it cost me only 37 cents to remedy my idiocy.
