nice write up...are you worried that if u get in an accident without the metal crash bar/ bumper that the insurance company won't insure you? i understand that it needed to be taken out...but i'm concerned i may have to take mine out..to me theres nothing worse than a stupid driver hitting me in the front end and not getting any money for someone elses mistake...

I did get into an accident with it like this, but I only had liability so nothing was covered. It actually didn't get destroyed TOO bad, it kept it's shape and everything. Just the fins were bent in on some spots where it hit the power steering fluid cooler. I doubt the insurance would not insure you without that bar, it's only a 5 mph bumper anyways and only really helps you out if YOU rear-end someone going 5 mph or less.

you could cut the bumper to fit the core, but then it just blocks airflow. As the story goes you gotta pay to play.

whats the best size fimc to fit the 97-99 bumpers? i measured it out, but my friend has a GS-t with a 26 3/4" L ...6 3/8" H ....3.5" D....and it looks weird.....what do you think...i dislike how you can see the end caps. and how its mounted

Usually 6-8" and taller fill it up nice. 31" wide also.
