Help me get traction.

Well, I took my car to the track for the first time this weekend. Mostly becuase it was Midnight Madness and it was free to enter and run.

Here is my setup:

98 Spyder GST
Dejon UICP
Greddy Type RS BOV
MBC set at 15psi
K&N Cone filter

My time was horrible, I ran three times and spun all the way through first gear. I ran a 15.3. Is this norm for my setup?

Maybe my nerves got to me and I launched it too hard? I am running the stock turbo, maybe I need new tires? The tread is alright on them.

Also, when I am on the street and I put it to the floor (and get traction), it hesitates for a second before going. Is this due to too much pressure up front and not having an exhaust to back it up?

Does a hard UICP make like a hollow hissing sound?

for more trackion get a GSX lol.... no, for more trackion, you just need to lauch the right way, I know DSM 1000Q website tell you how to lauch a GST (as well as others). and plus for full traction, that why they make racing tires just for tracks ^_^~~!

The track is going to be slicker then the street .. Tires are one of the best upgrades you can do .. If you spend a little bit extra and get a sticker tire, then you'll probably be running closer to 14.3
