My New Sentra

I just bought a 1993 Sentra for 50 bucks for a project car and I need some help with starting it. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put it, I hope you all don't mind. I've had a rocky start. At first the battery was dead, so I couldn't get it to start because of that, finally, the car turned over, but it was out of gas, so finally I put some gas in it and jumped it off, but it still wouldn't turn over, so I believe its the starter. So my question is, is there anyway of starting the car with a bad starter on it? Maybe some other trick or something? I really appreciate it.

If it is manual you can start it by pushing it down the street and popping it in gear. also you need to check to see if it is fuel or spark that is stopping you starting. use some gumout or stasrting fluid and have some one crank it over while you sparay it in the intake. If it starts to run then you have a fuel problem if it dont then you have a spark problem.

Thats my plan, but I just got it yesterday, so give me time, lol. I bought it from my brother, he was planning on dropping a 350 in it. Imagine that, I told him he couldn't do it, he couldn't get the engine in it to run, much less a complicated job like that. But let him dream right. I'll give it a try, thanks guys.
