Replacing carpet, considering Dynamat
I was planning on replacing the carpet, and this would probably be the right time to install dynamat underneath. I peeked under the carpet on the passenger side and by the rear seats just to see what I'm getting into.
I noticed a 1/4" thick plastic mat under the driver and passenger foot area. I also noticed a plastic mat by the rear seat area. (It would be behind a rear passenger's lower legs.) Would you use dynamat over or under these items? If you use it under, should those plastic mats be reinstalled? ![]() One more thing I found odd. Under the driver/passenger mats, I expected the floor panel to be sheet metal, but it looked like it is fiberglass/plastic. Is this correct, or am I looking at some other material which must be removed prior to installing dynamat?
