A/C button stuck ON; How to remove Climate-Control unit? - Team-2G Mitsubishi Forum

The A/C button on my '97 RS is stuck ON. I read thru my Haynes manual, and its useless for interior trim removal. I have the front trim plate removed, and the center console removed (peice around/below the shifter), and Im stuck on how to get the climate control unit out of the dash. Theres a little black piece thats a brace or something thats in the way. Do I have to remove that to get the climate controls out? If pics are needed, I can get them... Thanx!

I've taken apart the dash and console one time, but I didn't remove the climate control unit, so I'm of no use here. However, I will recommend that you should spray a quick burst of WD-40 on there to see if that will loosen it free.

Should only be 5 or six screws holding the climate controls in place. unscrew them and it is in your hand. I'll take a look at mine when I go to lunch in about 45 minutes and verify this
