Good Secret Spot to Place Amp In Spyder???

Sup guys,

I'm kinda stuck on where to place an amp in my spyder. I really dont want to pin it to the interior trunk wall. I thought about that space behind the cross bars underneath where the covertible top drops. Is that kool, or do you think it might overheat? I just don't want to place it in an area where's it's easily viewable. Having a Spyder, people might think how easy it is to just slice my top to open my trunk and steal it.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

don't mind me i'll just be throwing out random places in the car. under the passenger seat, under ur seat, where ur spare tire goes. just make a lil cover for it in ur trunk.

I use to have mine in that little compartment where the top comes down into. That's a good spot if the amp fits

That's where I was thinking about putting it Turbo. Where did you mount it exactly? Did it ever get hot or overheat under there?

How much did it cost you to dynamat the trunk? Did you do it yourself? What portions of the trunk did you dynamat? side panels? floor?

This is kinda new to me to bare with me.

Thanks

i was thinking about placing my amp behind those cross bars but was worried about the convert top motor....i just mounted the amp to one of the sub boxes...alot easier than having to take off those bars and maneuver around with limited space

Mine is mounted in this spot, it is simply mounted to a piece of MDF board, and the board is mounted to the car, its pretty clean never see the amp behind the cover in the trunk.

Here is my setup, the amp is where you are talking about. I used MDF that I put carpet over and made a box under the top, I'm not completly finished yet. I plan on getting rid of the sub box and mounting the subs to the cross bars that way I'll have a trunk again, lol.

My amp has only overheated once and I think thats because is was like 104 degrees outside.
I will try and post some more pics tomorrow when it isn't so dark outside.

Thanks SpyderGuy97, It's still not finished, probably won't be for a couple of months or so. I'd like to see yours, maybe get some good ideals from you!

Droptop, This is how I am planning on doing it:

I'm planning on attaching the MDF to the cross bars. As far as making a box for the subs, I have free air subs and our trunks are small enough that it should act as a sub box, we will just have to push the subs harder, about twice as hard by my calculations.
Sorry the picture isn't that great I just did it real fast in ms paint!
