Rough idle and misfire? - Team-2G Mitsubishi Forum

I have a 99 RS. Last night I was driving on the highway and I downshifted to 4th going around 5000rpm. Then after I got off the highway, there seemed to be a sort of a rough idle and a slight burning smell. I check and I have spark in all cylinders. I was wondering how much compression I should have in each cylinder. There's no smoke coming out of the exhaust. Once I get past 2k rpm, it seems better. Any suggestions?

There are a few things that can cause this kind of issue. Most common would be maintenance issues. When is the last time you changed your spark plugs? What do your spark plugs currently look like? Whens the last time you changed your fuel filter?

I changed plugs and wires just now. Still the same problem. I'm getting enough fuel I believe. Once I start driving, it seems ok, but I don't want to risk it.
