Where to put Jack and Jack Stands

Okay, I've searched but nothing has been to helpful. I want to know where to place a jack (both for front and back) and where to put the jack stands. Also, if anyone has any suggestions of a good jack stand and what weight to get (I'm using four stands) that would be great. Pictures would really be helpful! FWD non-turbo btw. Thanks!

And also, this will be for quite a length of time, probably year(s) so I need good places for the Jack Stands not just "That's where I put mine when I changed the oil, but things were wobbly." lol.

If you were stored for that length of time you guys would use Jack Stands right?

Umm, do me a favor and go outside and look under your car on the frame and then tell me you can't figure out where to jack it up. :)

Well that's how other people cause damage. I've heard way too many stories of people bending suspension etc. and not being able to get the bolts out later on because they thought that piece looked like it would work. :)
Anyone else? Just trying to do it right and in a way that won't kill me.

Now I'm really debating whether it's good or not to have the Eclipse up on jack stands for that long. Probably but not for sure. Anyone have any insight?

my car was on jackstands for well over month, wont do anything. if ur worried about bednnig somthingplace ur stuff in these places.

front:

Jack: to rasie the car put the jack on the crossbeam in the middle of the front.

Stands: U have two arms that start from right belot the door and connect to ur hub assembly. place the jacks on that arm where its at its joint.

rear:
Jack: place it in the middle of the beam that goes across to l/r wheels and place the jack stands under that.

all those spots are conneceted to the frame of the car so nothing will bend.just avoid anything thats under the cfloor of the car or else ull bend the floor upward into the car. its soft metal.

oh yea if u leave the car on stands, take of the tires to put less weight on ur shocks and springs, and put the tires under the car incase the stands give.

god my typing has been sucking lately, sorry. i would be banded from tuners for it in a heart beat. oh wait i was lol.

Very true. DSMtalk cracks the whip . I like there rule number seven, but when they make post after post about using proper grammar, it's like, it doesn't take that darn much to make a point. Still a good forum over there though.
