Headlight Question

I posted a question relating to my headlights in the general forum, but I am now posting in here because I have a 99 RS, so if a mod could move it for me that'd be sweet or just read this one.
OK so my problem is, is that my headlights will simply not turn on. The fuses/relays are still good, but they give now power to the lights. I have put 2 wires bridging the parking lights and the headlights together, and thats the only way it works and sometimes it takes a few minutes because i have to wiggle it around to make the connection. (wow that last part sounded terrible)
If anyone has some tips or knows what to do, please let me know, it's so frustrating.

Have you put new bulbs in recently? Those "hyper blue" eBay HID-like bulbs?
Or have you recently tried to put in any type of HID system?

If any of the cases above applies, then you probably melted/fried the wiring. If not, then no clue.

When putting in an HID system, a separate wiring harness is necessary because the stock wires are just not enough to handle the startup amperage that the ballasts require. Also, those cheap HID-like 9006 bulbs are often rated in WAY higher wattage than what your stock wiring will allow, and causes them to melt and fail.

If your headlights are stock, and have never been modified, a good place to start would be with the wiring, starting from the place where you tapped the parking light, going back into the car. If it's not wiring, then it must be the switch (if your relays and fuses are all okay).

yeah i changed the bulbs, but they weren't anything like the ones you are referring to. And yeah it probably is the wiring. I am buying a switch off of my friends eclipse this week (he crashed his) so hopefully that will be the fix instead of the wiring
