What is the engine code for a 99 gst engine?

Just like the topic said...

I HAVE SEARCHED (HAZER)!

I have a 99 rs with a 420a motor in it and from what I understand the 4g63 is out of the question for a possible swap.

Is it possible to swap a gst engine into my RS???

:: runs and puts on flame suit::
:)

ya jr, the rs and the gs both have the 420a, and the gs-t and gsx have the 4g63, so any swap from the gs-t or gsx to a gs or rs wouldnt go over to well, and i dont think a flame suit will help you in the coming posts, just ... if i were you i wouldnt check back on the comments you recieve for this topic, it will just upset you lol

If you want to build for power, talk to the hazer.

Your going to need to do a lot more then just hide under your bed. Try using the search button. You know the little button up top that says seach. This has been discussed a bunch of times.

Get out from under there, you pussy!

Considering your first post referenced my reputation here, I believe you spent some time at least trying to find what you wanted to know, but just didn't find all the information. Fact of the matter is, unless you drive a drop top Eclipse, the 2GNT sports a Neon block. Only "swap," per se, is the 2.4L out of the cloud cars and PTC. However, if you don't know which cars have the 420A and which have the 4G63, this is well out of your league. Even The Hazer has yet to attempt this project (although I will have my hands in one soon enough...).

Stick around and use that search utility. It will save you much grief, grasshopper.

YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO SHOUT AT ME!!!

But thanks for the info...

I have found a 420a engine that I can build up.
so that later I can swap it in when all the work is done. Labor will not be a problem considering that my brother owns a mod shop. but if i do have any questions about the build I will Search first THEN ask second...
Just to clarify things...

Good pistons and rods. Cams. Your head flows a lot as it is. I still would say valve job 3angel and better valves SS. and turbo the sob. Along with your fuel mods. You said labor isn't going to be the problem. and i also assume your a loaded drug smuggler that just puts all their money in to there AWDspyder that still isn't tuned right....oh wait.....i assume you have money to spend lots of it.

That setup had so much potential. Too bad he never got it ro run right, and the guy who bought it has invested tons more to get it to run. The original shop ARD, known to many as TARD, half assed that install. Most of the welds on his motor mounts and accessory brackets often broke, and i think his modified oil pan only held like 3 quarts. Luckily, the new shop working on it seems to know what they are doing, and will make it a monster once again.

Building a 420a to handle boost is not that hard. It all depends on your knowledge, and how much you want to spend :P Engine rebuilds for any motor are not cheap, especially if you go with forged internals. Our pistons were not designed to handle boost, it is our "Achilles’ heel". Now do you need to upgrade the rods and pistons? My answer: It is a good idea, but others have had the stock rods modified to accept forged pistons. The last i heard, someone on 2gnt was running 19 psi on stock rods and JE pistons.

There are several posts in this forum that have just the info you are looking for.
