Act clutch question PLEASE READ!!!!
Recently had a noise comming from the trans, thought it was the trans so I took it to a shop and the guy said the trans was good. I wanted to check the disc, pp, and flywheel to make sure the clutch was still ok to keep in, seeing as though the guy before me probably dogged it. The flywheel looks good no heat checks or severe gouges, the pp looks as good as the flywheel minus a little wear on the fingers. The disc however (6puck) looks like it could be on its last leg. Almost down to the rivets. Now I have a few questions.
1. Should I have the flywheel turned, its an act, or just scuff it up for the new clutch 2. Reuse the pp and just get a new disc and tob? 3. Buy a new clutch kit and just scuff the flywheel? 4 Buy a new clutch kit and have the flywheel turned? If being turned is highly recommended, ive read something about a step in the flywheel when turning? Please elaborate. Thanks in advance guys, turns out my TOB took a shit. Has some play in it.

Buy a new clutch kit with an OEM TOB, shift fork and pivot ball and get the flywheel turned if any cracks or heat scorches. Make sure you shim the pivot ball with atleast 1 shim if you get it turned.

The shift fork and ball look to be in good condition though... Think I should scuff the flywheel with emory cloth?

If no cracks, then yes. If there are minor cracks, which there may be, I would get it lightly resurfaced.

You should always get the flywheel resurfaced if you are changing out the clutch.

Ok so the clutch kit comes in tomorrow or friday, picking up the TOB from the dealer tomorrow. Im going to get the flywheel turned which is an ACT, just wondering the turning limits of the flywheel. Ive also heard someting about a step up when turning? Can someone elaborate? Will I need shims also? Thanks again.
