7 Bolt AWD and FWD Flywheel Diameters

What are the diameters of a 7 bolt AWD Flywheel and a 7 bolt FWD Flywheel?

Because my flywheel doesn't fit in the bell housing. It's too big. If you look up spec on an ACT streetlite the AWD flywheel is 0.7 lbs less than the FWD flywheel which leads me to believe the AWD flywheel is smaller.

Ahh Gotcha. I just got off the phone with Clutchmasters and they said they are the exact same.

Exedy has the gst as: Spline Teeth / Major Diameter 20T / 22.4
and the gsx as: Spline Teeth / Major Diameter 20T / 22.4

I wonder if someone replaced the ring gear on it with one that was too big.

Then I wonder why it wouldn't fit? It is a 7 bolt and it is raised so I know it's not a 4g63 n/a flywheel.

There was a guy on here with this same problem a little over a month ago. I don't know if he found any reasoning behind it or not.

I've searched around, and from what I'm gathering:

Yes, there is a difference between the FWD and AWD flywheels. You are going to need the AWD flywheel, and that motor you have probably has a FWD flywheel on it.

BINGO!!!

The FWD flywheel is bit different than AWD. Hense why Jack is having problems installing his block to his AWD tranny.

Intresting.. I wonder why dealers sell them with the same part numbers? And what makes them different?

Actually most vendors ask if the flywheel is for an AWD or FWD. Even though the part number is the same.

The FWD flywheel has a slightly larger ring gear compared to the AWD one. If you get the wrong flywheel then you get what happened to you either your starter wont engage the flywheel and spin freely (in the awd flywheel in a fwd trans) of the flywheel will not allow the trans to be mounted (fwd flywheel with awd trans) It seems like you have a fwd flywheel and you need to find an awd. I can go take pictures of an awd and fwd flywheel side to side so you can see the difference im talking about. If anyone would like the picture let me know and ill post it up.
