"timing belt trick"
Having problems keeping your cam gears in time? Get it at that perfect spot then all of a sudden it spins another full 1/4 turn? Dont have two wrenchs to to hold the cams in place??? Heres a simple solution, use a flanged nut and bolt! It was actually a mitsubishi TSB a few years ago. heres a pic, I will have to get measurements of the nut and bolt later.

Yeah that would be great if you could get those measurements I just helped a guy put new timing components on his 420a and we had a hell of a time getting those cams right. Man I wish I would've known this....

I would be carfull on doing this. There is a SMALL chance you could knick the gears causing them to slowly tear the belt. I dont know if this would happen, but it might.

Wouldn't want to try this because of the obvious danger. I've found that the easiest way to align both cam gears when i do a T belt (ive done a couple dozen by now) is to use zip ties. If anyone wants more info on this you can PM me or i can start a new thread.
