How to: Replace Stock 2g BOV

This writeup is for you who need to replace your broken or leaky 2g BOV with another one. I do recommend you upgrading to at least a 1g BOV if possible. Note they use different flanges so you would need a UICP. This writeup is based on personal experience.

Parts Needed:
New 2g BOV

Tools Needed:
Flathead screwdriver
Pliers

Here's a factory 2g BOV

Step 1:Remove old BOV

First thing you should do is loosen the clamp on the bottom of the BOV.

Next, you loosen the clamp on the recirculation tube on the BOV side and remove the vacuum line going to the top of the BOV. This is held on by a clamp which pliers will help you take off. This will now allow you to pull the old BOV off.

Step 2: Installing new BOV

Install the new 2g BOV on the factory uic hose and tighten the base clamp with a flathead screwdriver.

Now you can install the BOV recirculation hose on the side port of the 2g BOV . Tighten the hose on the BOV with the clamp using a flathead screwdriver. You may now also connect the vacuum port back up to the BOV top port and slide the clamp over the tube using pliers.

Go for a drive and if there's no leaks and it boosts fine and blows off fine, you're done!

Hope this helps anyone who needs to replace their POS 2g BOV with another POS 2g BOV

I recommend upgrading BOVs when you're able to.
