Paint job..
Well..im trying to get a paint job but the quote i got seemed kinda high to me. This guy is charging me $2800 to paint the car pearl blue. He said he will basically take all the parts out and paint them separately, front bumper, rear bumper, fenders etc. from the inside too..he said he takes his time on his jobs, about 3-4weeks. I know i should look around for the best price but i was wondering if taking all the parts out like hes gonna do is better than any regular paint job?

well yea its best that way so that he doesnt get paint on your interior pieces while getting jambs and other ****. as far as the kit I dont know how it works but my friend in Arizona does paint jobs like that. 3-4 works sounds great to me, atleast he's doing good work to make sure it comes out right.

thats sounds about the average price for what you want, you fuigure a week to take it apart, a week to paint and a week to put back together. You should still look around though and you might save a couple hundred dollars or so My boy got the same color on his 300zx for 2500 not a big difference but 300 dollars is something. Just make sure that wherever you do it you feel comfortable lasts thing you want is to get a bad job and when you get your car back say to urself I knew it.

I'm getting mine painted right now and I had 2 other quotes prior to this one (3 quotes in all). You really get what you pay for in paint. I didn't know much about paint/body until recently, but the person painting my car is doing a $3k+ paint job for a really good price (on the side).
The reason paint jobs cost so much is because of how labor intensive it can be. Cheap jobs don't spend the time to prep the car properly, they just spray.
My car isn't done yet, but so far, I can already tell that it is really worth spending that money once and doing it as right as possible.
It's kinda like building a good motor vs buying a used motor. The new motor might cost a lot more, but if your goal is to keep the car, it would be worth it in the long run.

That's a pretty damn good price, did that include materials? Jambs? Disassembly?
I know that it's probebly $600 in blue paint alone.

Wow, I wouldn't touch that job for 2500 bucks.
Just keep alot of wax on it and keep it out of the sun if possible, house of kolor's candy paints are known to die out with prolonged uv exposure. I know that the neon candy colors are the worst for this, but can happen in their plain old cosmic line as well.
