Back in the day my first car was an escort that I bought cheap that had already been highly modified... it was a 94.

Anyway it had cut springs (they worked awesome btw) and had z rated Super thick tires, i dont remember the exact figures but they were huge.. anyway my lugs were old and so were my tires.

I went in to the big o tires down the street from my parents and showed them my car. Of course it was only about 2" from the ground (serious) and i wanted to make sure they could get the new tires on and replace the old lugs with no problem. They noticed the cut springs and said it would be fine...

I come pick my car up and start to take it home... instant i feel the wheels vibrating in the front so i get out and check on them. SEVERAL of the lugss are completely lose!! So i go back and they had standard on metric!!

So they put new lugs on again and i was off... this time i get 5 miles and im crusing down a half-busy street. Next thing i know my front drivers side tire falls off the car without warning... it slams into the top of the wheel base doing 60 and then gos flying about 100 feet up into the air and lands about a football field in front of me. I go sliding into the incoming traffic lanes with sparks flying from my exposed rotor.

Thank god there were no cars coming but a van was on a sidestreet waiting to turn and had seen it all. I open my door and get out... the car is resting on the rotor and of course the edge of my fucking oil pan!!!

some kids come out of the van like "dude thats awesomest thing ive ever seen" and they help me lift the car enough to get the jackstand under it.... i jack the car up and get 2 lugs on (2 shredded off) and make it (super slowly) back to big o tires.

I get out super pissed off i just had a near appointment with death and the store manager comes out. I calmy show him what happened and he immediately blames it on my cut springs!!!

Needless to say i cussed him out and was ready to rip his head off his little body until my dad showed up and dragged me away.

The moral of this story is , BIG O TIRES ARE MORONS. Please please, i urge all of you to never put your car in their hands!!

I filed a complaint with the BBB and again the blamed my cut springs that i had on the car for over year with no problems. I called the corporate office up and they wouldnt do anything either.

They obviously do not care about customer satisfaction and act with no regard to human's safety. [-(

Thats bs owner of that shop has definately earned the right for a swift kick in the nuts. Sorry to hear about that, what baffles me is how he blamed it on the springs... Its kind of like saying your low in oil thats why your radio doesn't work. It just makes no sense..

Not just the owner... the friggin CORPORATE OFFICE gave me the same BS.

Its because they were afraid of a lawsuit because they knew they were wrong. I hate corporate as$holes. They could have easily compensated you for their ignorance, but of course not they do as most companys usually do and act like pricks. My one friend took his 2001 Celica to this tire place and they have kids that work on cars as apprentice for school. He and I both stated that we do not want kids working on the car, but they let them anyway. The kids jacked the car up on the gas tank, we didn't notice until we were about to leave and we went into the shop with a quarter tank of gas and the thing red like 3/4ths full. I have a hunch go to look at the gas tank and its dented in. I go to speak to someone in the shop, and they totally deny it.. I'm like dude i'm going to auto mechanics school I know how to jack a car up i'm the only other person who works on the car. Long story short I flip and i'm like I have 3 lawyers in my cell phone I can call any 1 of your choosing, we can take this to court and drag your company name through the mud. I myself spend about 1000 bucks here a year on 2 sets of tires, i'm a import inthusist, if you want my automotive friends to stop shopping here also you can turn us away lose money and get a lawsuit on yourself. Or would you rather come take a look, and aleviate this entire thing. He came looked and took some money off my friends bill. I was heated I mean yeah some people lie but if they would have just followed directions, I wouldn't of turned out all angry...
