I was looking for a leak after a couple of hard rains because I would get in my car and behind the driver and passenger side were wet and the rear seats were wet as well.

I took apart my plastic in the trunk and found this






A few questions.

A) What is this and what is it's purpose, because it wasn't on the other side?

B) I poured water down the hatch and alot went through the tail light and down to this and leaked in so I sealed it with caulking was that a bad idea?

I can not really see it, the two bottom pics won't load right for me, for some reason. Can you post the regular IMG code without the clickable thumbnail? so I can see it more clearly.......from what I can see it look like some sort of venting device lol....
