My new Spyder Tonneau cover!

Well anyone who knows what it is, knows they run for $400 w/o shipping and paint. They randomly pop up on eBay and
no site sells them. BUT I found a guy on dsmtuners who had one but it had a small blemish on it and wanted to get rid of it,
lucky for me he only lived one hour away so I could drive and pick it up and I did. My friend works at a body shop so he does
fiberglass work and also paints so we are going to smooth it out and paint it the mitsubishi black with some glossy clear coat.

Anyway onto the pics!

see that tiny chip in the upper right cornerrounding the edge? Its only 1/2"x1/2 wide and only a surface scratch not even deep

Test fitting (which fits PERFECT but some adjustments will need to be done for the top to go up with it on.

Under it will go my JL system

--------

Still yet to go on:

Masked to be painted gloss black, under the tape is a nicely polished lip

Prosport oil gauge in cig lighter location (not pictured)

*Im sure your all wondering how much I paid it was nothing near $400 because
the guy didnt know how to fix that tiny blemish he let it go for $150! +1 for knowing what bondo is

Nice man, Can't wait to see it finished. Those look way better then the arching bar that looks like a horseshoe thingy that some spyder owners have.

Definitely post pictures when you get it all painted. I'm curious to see how the stocker wheels will look as well.

We are kinda stumped on how to secure it down to the car. Although it fits snug by itself with enough of a gust it might come undone. We were thinking of locking hood pins near the front so its stays down and cant be take, well very fast anyway

it looks nice, I'd like to see some pics when its done. I would also pay some attention to your drivers seat, looks kinda dirty in the pictures. with a convertable everybody would be able to see that dirty seat. just my 2 cents

No its actually clean its just some weird angles I saw that when I posted and hoped no one would point that out like you did....thanks j/k :)

What sucks is I can only work one the wheels first and then this so Im sure this thread will die for awhile till I can finish it in about 3 weeks time along with the wheels and gauge

I stripped the lip of my wheels as well and painted the spokes gloss black. Looks awesome and I get many comments on them about how they think they are aftermarket rims.

the hood pin idea isn't bad... also check into those large diameter ball and sockets used for large speaker cabinet grills should be able to glass the ball into the cover & install the socket cleanly into the trim piece.

Looks nice as hell. If I had a SPYDER I would definitely get that. Like was stated earlier, it makes it look more exotic.

I dont know why it would no air gets there because when it hits the windshield it goes over it like a normal car but we are installing hood pins on the left and right side to keep it in place, JUST in case something like that would happen
