18's will do nothing to fill your wheel gap. You will have a lower profile tire to keep the same rolling diameter, thus, obviously keeping the gap the same

Lowering the car is the only way to get rid of the gap.

Looks like 7inch is completely out of travel up front. How does riding around on the bumpstops feel?

I had a 96 neon that was dropped on Arospeed springs 2 in. all the way around. Due to the fact that it wasn't set up right my struts blew out the 1st few weeks of installation. I was slamming into the bumps and pot holes so bad it was fukkin' up my soul more than my car. Ended up with a $620.00 oil leak a month later. So you see if I lower my car I really have to do my homework because I don't want that happening again.

President, what is the precise measurements on your vehicles drop? Are you on springs or coilovers?

Measuring from the fender to the center of the wheel, the front is 13 & 3/4'' and the rear is 14 & 1/2''. To get these cars to handle their best, you want a higher rear roll center, or "stinkbug mode".

I am on Koni's and GC coilover's w/ 500# fronts and 350# rears. I also have RRE uppermounts, so I gained about an extra inch of travel; allowing me to be able to go a bit lower without bottoming out.

Most likely, the problem with lowering your Neon with those springs, is that the rates were not near high enough to account for a 2 inch drop. That being said, the word "sportlines" come to mind.

Also another added problem with the way I dropped it is that I just threw the springs on my stock struts - Yes I know very smart, lol. So Eibach sportlines would be the way to go on my Eclipse?? Are your GC's adjustable or did it come with it's specific height?

I'm not going to have a suspension conversation in the body mods section. Make a new thread.

But just on an ending note, I'm left wondering if your reading comprehension is anywhere near where is should be.

GC's are coilovers, so obviously you can adjust your height to where you want it.

How you read that I ever suggested Sportlines is beyond me. I never have and never will recommend them.

Lowering your car on stock struts goes in the same catagory at sportlines.

It is not a problem if you do not want to discuss suspension in this section of the forum and I respect that 100%. I know there is a time and a place for everything which I fully understand.

I didn't know what GC's were so "obviously" I didn't have the knowledge on the termnology for the coilovers or them being adjustable, hell I never heard of "GC's."

There is a such thing as "misunderstanding", when I seen "Sportlines" I made the assumption that you meant Eibach, I did not know that there was a term for lowering your car on stock struts. Again that's why I said I have to do my homework because there are things I do not know about the subject that's why I havent had luck with it on my previous car.

The "Reading comprehension" statement, honestly, just because I misunderstood what you were saying does not give you the right to insult me in anyway. There was noone insulting you at all ,these were just questions out of curiousity and for you to flip it around and start saying this is beyond you and my reading abilities lets me further know how much of an ASSHOLE you are for trying to come down on someone who wants some knowledge they didn't have.

I honestly don't appreciate others coming into my thread that are disrespectful for now damn reason. Just because I read something wrong does not give you a reason to come at me that way when I meant no harm. I actually had respect for you and didn't know you but your car said alot about you and how clean it was. I thought wow this guy is cool, let me ask him about his suspension since he's here, and I was glad you took the time to make comments in my thread. Now that you're here I kindly ask you to get the **** out because that will not be tolerated. Especially from you because you are no better than me.

Ok, after reading the entire thread, I must say a few things.

1. Jhoon, chill out. . He tried to explain his suspension setup to you. You just kept saying "Sportlines"

2. Sportlines are craptacular shocks. Driving your car would be comparable to driving a tank, in that the ride quality would suck.

3. GC stands for Ground Control, which is a type of coilover setup.

I need to chill out?? I know you know him and that may be your boy but I never came at him like he did me so don't stick up for him. He said something about my reading abilities and that wasn't called for. and I only said sportlines in one response so what the hell are you talking about. I know he must be a guru with suspension or maybe this site but that was entirely unacceptable and for you to totally overlook what he said is BEYOND me as well.

I didn't overlook what pres said. He is a blunt person. The rest of us already know that. He also knows his sh!t front, back and sideways. As far as him being my boy or whatever, We have never met, and we've had disagreements in the past too. But for you to act like a spoiled child who got butt hurt because someone made a smart@ss comment is not only uncalled for, but ridiculous. When it comes to suspension questions or whatever kind of question, there are some on here who know the answer immediately, and some of us have to search a little. So someone said something about your reading comprehension. BIG F*CKIN deal. Are you an adult? If so, you know that sometimes people make fun of other people. As an adult, you have the ability to pick which fights you pursue, and which ones you let slide. This is what most adults consider a minor(<--READ "Not worth the time") argument. But you do what you feel is necessary.
