Stop Antenna From Raising While Playing A CD?

Sup Guys,

I currently have a Pioneer DEH-P8600MP radio head unit in my car. However, What I'm trying to find out is if there is any way I can keep the antenna from raising while playing a cd? Or if I'm listening to the radio then insert a cd I would like the antenna to retract. Is there any way this can be done?

Thanks in advance

you can run your remote wire to a toggle switch. pull out your head unit and there is a blue wire thats the wire that tells the antenna to go up or down, splice into it and run a simple toggle switch or a button switch then you have all the control of when its up or down!

most decks don't offer this option.

ONly high end decks do nowadays, and unfortunately I dont think your non premier pioneer will have this feature.

Yeah, my wife's deck has that. It's labled "PWR ANT," it's a pink wire. Not sure if it would be the same on yours, but you could check. Hers is a Sanyo, BTW.

I had one on my Sony (blech) kenwood and now my alpine decks. and none of them were the end spectrum of the brands. (Except the Sony and it was still crap)

thats what the purpose of the remote attenna wire is for (blue/white wire). Its so when you turn the radio on or off... the attenna goes down and also, when you switch to CD player...it should do the same as well. You're radio is either A. defective, replace it or get it serviced.. or B. connect the wire correctly. I know for a fact that the Pioneer 8500 and the 7500 both work that way. You can also make a toggle switch like mention by someone else but if you're like me...you dont need any more switches layin around (8 switches and still adding more....::sigh::)

The blue wire from the Pioneer head unit is connected to the factory antenna wire. I confirmed it yesterday. The antenna currently goes up and down when I turn the radio on and off, but if I switch from radio to cd, it stays up. Im trying to have the antenna go down or retracted when the cd player is on.

I just thought there was some way this could be done.

only if the head had a power ant wire and a "blue turn on wire"

if all you have is the blue wire with out a seperate different colored power(blue white usually, pink sometimes) ant wire, then no...

even the AVICn1 doesn't have a power antenna wire.
