Its so when you turn the radio on or off... the attenna goes down and also, when you switch to CD player...it should do the same as well. You're radio is either A. defective, replace it or get it serviced.. or B. connect the wire correctly. I know for a fact that the Pioneer 8500 and the 7500 both work that way. You can also make a toggle switch like mention by someone else but if you're like me...you dont need any more switches layin around (8 switches and still adding more....::sigh::)

The blue wire from the Pioneer head unit is connected to the factory antenna wire. I confirmed it yesterday. The antenna currently goes up and down when I turn the radio on and off, but if I switch from radio to cd, it stays up. Im trying to have the antenna go down or retracted when the cd player is on.
I just thought there was some way this could be done.
