antenna

I was wondering if anyone else is having trouble with there antenna not going down. It's kinda annoying seeing it sticking out all the time and I rarely listen to the radio, so I need some help getting the damn thing down. Thanks

Joe

It is either a little bent or the motor is gone. If it is a little bent then as soon as you turn the radio off run back there and apply some gentle pressure and it should go down. Your other option is to just shave it like I did on my GST....

so, is that mean that the antenna stays up all the time, and there is now way for it to come down when the car turns off.

If you wire it up to the REM> lead on the stereo, it will go up whenever the h/u is on.

IF you have a NICE headunit, it will have an antenna lead also, and this will only putthe antenna up when in RADIO mode, and it will go down when on cd sat dvd etc.
In either case if you did it right it should go down when the headunit is OFF.

what is the color of the antenna wire the comes out of my car, because my cd player had a blue wire that said radio antenna, and i hooked it to a white with black stripes. is that the correct one.

I don't know for 2 reasons.
1 I don't have a power antenna to go check for you,
and
2 I always use a harness instead of hardwiring it.

I'm betting it's either a negative trigger or you have the wrong wire though.

you might be able to find out on VFAQ... If I had a power antenna (EAGLE's DON'T) I'd go look for you and find out.

sorryu just checked and it isn't listed, but using the process of elimination you can probably determine it...

i searched everywhere, and vfaq have some good sites, but the only thing that it does not say, is where to hook the antenna wire so it goes up and down. i think i'm just going to take mine to circut city and let them work on it, if no one else have any suggestoins.

The antenna will go up and down if you hook it up to the remote wire off your deck, the only problem is that it doesnt distinguish between cd and radio, so it will stay up the whole time your deck is powered on. If you find an alternate solution, I would love to know cause i am going through the same problem. :(

I was having the same problem, mast was not going all the way down. So, i turned off the deck, ran back and pushed it down. When it was down, i pulled off the connector that tells it to go up and down. Of course, i still left the mast connected to the antenna cord. It stays down and it still picks up the radio. I think im gonna get some cheap azz non-powered antenna (cuz, i hardly listen to the radio anyways), or maybe i'll just see if i can turn the whole car into an antenna.
