Oh, last thing. The two 12inchers with 1000watt amp kicks really hard if you want it to. If you just want it to sound better overall and you're not looking to be a gangsta or anything, one 10inch with a 500watt amp will do you just fine. And be cheaper.

Doublecheck your amp zappa. It's not 1000w if it's from best buy for $140 even if it was clearance.

What you want is 300w RMS and a good sub to handle it. Stay away from soundstream. They get loud but sound friggen awful. I think you'd be happy with a Rockford fosgate sub or maybe a low end treo. 10 or 12 inches should be good. I haven't heard any 15's that take less than 600w. 2 8's would also be pretty sweet too.

I should also note that we have hatchbacks. Most any sub is going to seem loud but a low quality sub is really going to show it's flaws as well. High quality and low power is what I'd do on a budget.

Also when it comes to amps you'd probably be ok with a budget amp. Check out MA audio. If you want something better I've heard good things about pheonix gold and I have to say I love their component speakers.

LOL Rockford subs lick nutz except for there power series. Soundstream subs are for mostly competition use, Ma audio really isn't that great.

I love my boston acoustics components that I have in the front and back but they run 340 for the pair.

My brother is running Phoenix Gold RSDs, they sound amazing and have excellent mid bass he has 4 of them running off this amp Rockford Fosgate® - T8004

its beast!

For subs I would go with an Re audio se with a Rockford Fosgate power amp..

I got full Kicker audio for doing a demo race for them and they basically paid me with audio stuff hahaha so if you are lookin for just an amp I have a brand new never been used, still has the tag on it and everything speaker amp I might part with.

Fozzy, it's 1000 watts. Got it at Best Buy for $140 a little more than a year ago.

Insignia NS-A1000.

I like how my setup sounds. Kenwood 1700watt amp (for my sub), Kenwood 720watt amp (for components), Kenwood rear components, Boston Acoustic front components, Kicker Solobaric L5 12" sub, and Kenwood head unit. Not a cheap setup, but then again I didn't feel like having to do it all over again because it sounded like crap.

In my honest opinion just wait until you can get more money to put towards a system. Otherwise I see you being unsatified with whatever you get if it's on a $200 budget.

You could also look into the Bazooka bass tubes, they're pretty cheap and you can get them amplified. If you dont buy the amplifed version it doesn't take a strong amp to give you some decent bass. They come in 8, 10, and I belive 12 inch models. They dont take up much space in your hatch also.

Its what you think sound best but i only have 500 in my system, and i have 2 12" subs, 1200 watt amp and components all they way around, and a head unit.

So just shop around ,test things out, and see what you think sounds best.

Here's what the manufacturer says

320W peak output at 1% THD, bridged
310W peak x 2 at 2 ohms 220W peak x 2 at 4 ohms
155W RMS (continuous) x 2 at 2 ohms
110W RMS (continuous) x 2 at 4 ohms
Adjustable 40-250Hz low-pass crossover
Platinum-plated RCA connection
Line-out
System distress indicator

So you have a 155wx2 amp that is 2 ohms stable
maybe 300w bridged at 1 ohm

Lol, 1000 watts. Anyway, their is no way this amp can hold a 1 ohm load. That amp would heat up and burn out.
