Most of the people you will find here are purists, meaning that we care about making sure the cars remain beautifully stock with a few minor tweaks that make the cars our own. That being said, I am not sure how many people will give you positive feedback on what you are attempting to do. Other then that I will try and answer your questions to the best of my knowledge.
The front side and backside speakers I believe only have a 3 to 4 inch clearance. When I replaced my factory ones with JVC 6x6's and 6x9's there wasn't much in the way of room to spare. But if you are going to custom build a fiberglass enclosure, you might have enough room to pop the panel forward about 4 more inches to be able to mouth subs there. Personally, I wouldn't because a pair of tens or twelves in a custom box in the back will make more sound then you need in our cars. That being said, you own a spider, so trunk space is at a premium, and fitting a pair of twelves will likely be an issue as well.
So if you want to remove your rear speakers for subs, its possible (with alot of work). But you will lose quite abit of the treble in the process. The stock front speakers are weak and can cause some issues for you in the way of sound quality.
As for everything else you want to put into your car...if you want to go that route more power to you, but in my logic, these cars already have enough that go wrong with them, why add things that might drain your battery, cause wiring issues, or all together cause your care to take a crap on you.
Do what you want man, and gods speed, I hope everything works out well for you.
