Head Unit trouble? Please Help

Ok so I took out my stereo today to hook up the wires for my boost gauge to the wiring harness. Now my headunit will not turn on. I know I have power because when my faceplate is off, a red light blinks. Why will my headunit not turn on? And for hooking up my boost gauge, the yellow in the wiring harness can be used for a constant 12V? And the Red for the 12V ignition.

Make sure your dimmer wire is grounded so you can have working instrument cluster lights (factory wire is black/yellow stripe I believe). Check with a voltmeter/multimeter on VDC scale your head unit constant power wire, accessory power wire, and ground. Should be a simple issue.

The dimmer wire. Do you mean on the actual dimmer? Where is it suppose to be grounded?

The black/yellow wire behind where the head unit would be. Ground it = put it to metal or put it with the head unit ground wire. Be smart.

Haha alrite. Just one more question. The black/yellow wire goes up into a bundle of many wires. Should I just cut or pull it out to get ground? Or what should I do.

Make sure it's either hooked up to the dimmer wire on the aftermarket head unit or ground it. That'll fix your instrument cluster lights.

Didn't Fix my instrument cluster lights.

Could it be the battery. I checked all of the fuses underneath the steering wheel.

Here is the whole story. Anyone else have any ideas? I don't want to have to take it somewhere.

I was trying to install my boost gauge today. I got everything hook up other than getting the constant 12V which was the yellow wire and the acc. 12V which is the red wire. Anyways, I read somewhere that I could use the wiring harness that goes to the back of the stereo to put these two cords in. Well I took my stereo out and such and spliced them in and what not. Turn my key to acc. just to see if headunit would turn on and it did not. I was getting power though because when I took the faceplate off. the red security light on the stereo was blinking. So I took the harness off and made sure everything was connected and it was and everything was fine, but still no headunit. So I gave up for a little bit and and went inside. Then I went back outside. Turned the key to acc. and nothing at all happened in the car. I'm talking about the cluster never lit up. My dome lights don't work now, the lights inside of the door do not go on. Nothing seems to be working. The car will still turn on and stuff like that but none of the stuff like the dome lights or anything work even when the car is on. Sorry thats alot to comprehend, but that is my problem and I know you are good with this kind of stuff, but if you just want to look at my post, well you don't really have to now since I told you everything. But if you could just message me back or post on my thread and try to tell me what my problem is that would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Check the fuses underneath the hood.

Yeah it was a fuse. It didn't even look like it was blown. I checked them before so I just changed some of them and it fixed it.
